I must be getting older, because I am about to buy a bird watching book.

Recently I have caught myself aimlessly starring out of the window watching birds. It makes me feel old, but it really is an enjoyable hobby. Here are a few pictures of some of the birds I have seen. (Downloaded from google of course) These birds have all been hanging out in our two old oak trees. (stay tuned for the good story when you see hummingbirds) Being from West Texas, the only birds I saw were quail and black birds. I am pretty sure that I am going to purchase a bird watching journal..... I'm a nerd.

Hummingbird eggs. I have a hummingbird nest right outside our balcony. It is the coolest thing. Did you know hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards? I wake up every morning and run to check on my hummingbird and to see if the babies are here.

This looks like my hummingbird, which is always referred to as a male, even though I know good and well that she is a female. My aunt told me that my great grandfather was a master hummingbird man. I must have it in my blood.

Hawk....which I like to refer to as a falcon. I am pretty sure that he would like to eat Jack, our poodle.

Cardinal - If you are ever with my family and we randomly call out, "Money, Money, Money!" It is because Brandon's Papaw told him to say that when you see a red bird.

Female Cardinal

Last summer we had a mother and three baby owls living in our trees.

Blue Jay

Last but not least, buzzards. Two of them were perched on our trees like this one when one of the neighborhood squirrels died.

Spring

We are having SO much fun! We have been on a birthday party marathon! Below is a picture from Camille's Clifford Valentines Party at school.

I made 65 of these Clifford Hats for the kindergarten. Lots of moms went to a LOT of work, but it was well worth it:)
This is our DI team. We had our tournament in February. They did WONDERFUL! DI is Destination Imagination, which is a creative thinking/team building club.

February's Fast

February has flown by. Looking back at my pictures from the month makes me realize how fast it did. The middle pictures are from "Zero the Hero's" wedding. I was a bridesmaid:) Zero is a character that visits Camille's elementary on days that end in zero. She married Zoro on the 100th day of school. It was a "white trash" wedding and we were all supposed to be mismatched. All the kids had to make hats with 100 objects on them. While cleaning up from the wedding, I got a call from my carpool friend that I needed to take her little boy home. She needed to go the hospital. Her friend was really sick. That call seems like 20 years ago. Anyways, I didn't want to post this blog without saying something about Jenny. I did not know Jenny, however, it seems like everyone around me knew her. I just watched her funeral on my computer today. I am forever changed by her story. Words that stick in my head are "life is too short to whine", and "the Glory of God" was witnessed by all. This woman had so many people fighting for her. I witnessed people from all walks of life praying and trying to help a girl. I do not have any real words of wisdom. In fact, I have a really hard time getting my thoughts and feelings into words, but I do want to say, to anyone who is reading this....... LOVE your neighbors! Do what Jesus wanted us to do and LOVE one another. LOVE who you are sitting by at this very moment. Count your blessings. Life goes by too fast to worry and fret. In the end, all that matters LOVE.

Super Bowl. We went for the Saints since we had some Madi Gra costumes:)

I am on the end, with the GOOFY grin on my face:)
